Case Study
Full Case StudyThe Brief
Enigma Escape Rooms wanted a flagship experience that would set a new standard for mechanical puzzle design in the UK. The room needed to accommodate groups of 4–8, run on a 60-minute timer, and deliver a premium, story-driven experience justifying a higher price point.
The Challenge
The client's existing venue had a load-bearing pillar in the centre of the space, an awkward low ceiling in one corner, and limited electrical capacity. Every puzzle had to be resettable by a single game master in under 8 minutes between sessions. The steampunk theme also demanded period-accurate aesthetics — no visible modern tech.
The Solution
We designed the room around the pillar, turning it into the central clock tower mechanism that drives the narrative. The low-ceiling corner became a hidden crawl-through passage, adding to the sense of discovery. All electronic triggers were concealed inside custom brass housings. A proprietary pneumatic reset system allows the game master to restore every puzzle from a single control panel in under 5 minutes.
